Mission Statement

The Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada is a national voluntary organization dedicated to helping individuals with Tourette Syndrome and their families by:  gathering and distributing information, promoting local self-help and professional services and promoting research.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors that meet regularly to decide on matters affecting the foundation.  Directors are elected by the membership for 3 year terms and terms are arranged so that only one-third of the Director’s terms expire in any year.  Executive positions (President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer) are filled from among the Directors and are held for one year terms.  These positions are selected by a vote of the Directors.  A full time Executive Director is employed by the Foundation and is located at the office in Toronto.

Support services are provided by a network of affiliates across Canada which include Chapters, Resource Units and Contact Representatives.  For more information about affiliates see http://www.tourette.ca/chapters.php
