Social Anxiety Disorder
Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is a type of Anxiety Disorder.
A certain amount of anxiety is normal when meeting someone for the first time or in other social situations, however, people with (SAD) experience considerable anxiety in everyday social situations. They may have an intense fear of what others are thinking about them or of doing something or saying something that will embarrass them.
These people often avoid social gatherings and attempt to avoid situations that will cause them embarrassment.
When they are present with other people they experience extreme self-consciousness and may have symptoms such as blushing, sweating, trembling or muscle tension.
